Operating behind the mixer and console, he’s considered by some to be the inventor of cumbia electronica. What Lee Scratch Perry is to reggae, Dusty is to cumbia. A composer, arranger, and ringmaster, Oliveira reinterprets the principals of the Jamaican sound systems of the 1970s, mashing grimey, electro bass sounds together.
