Newborn photography used to intimidate me because I thought it needed it to be super sweet, curled-up and wrapped babies with perfectly smooth skin (lots of photoshop) and decorated with props. I was not interested in spending money on props, nor did I have any extra money (ha!) and I didn’t want to lull babies to sleep. I also wanted mom to be in … honestly, every photograph. Every time I saw a baby’s hand wrapped around a parent’s finger, it made me feel so much more than a little baby hand alone. So I knew if I pursued newborn photography, this was the direction I needed to go – towards lifestyle newborn photography.​
